Holiday Fun
Yes, it’s time to start thinking about the holidays… not planning just yet, but thinking. The holidays are fast approaching and it is time to have fun! This year has been so hectic. We all deserve a little festivity! So, here are some ideas I want to share…
We have all attended traditional holiday parties with the standard red, green and gold color scheme. It’s alright, but let’s consider something a bit different. Here are a few ways to add other festive colors, sparkle and a little holiday cheer.
If you still wish to keep the traditional holiday look, try some new color combinations. Red, white and the sparkle of glimmering silver is very strong and cheerful. It’s a great way to re-use standard red holiday accents but with a new twist. For more glitz, go with gold and silver. The marriage of the two metals is electrifying, yet soft and elegant. It’s certainly one of my favorite combinations! Looking for something more toned down and earthy? Try evergreen, bronze and copper with accents of burgundy. This blend creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Perhaps you are looking for a creative theme that is fun and different. I have a great idea. How about a retro-Floridian holiday celebration? Imagine a canvas of festive lime green, pink and yellow. Bring in elements of sand, oranges, colorful fiesta lights strung from the ceiling, postcards, palm trees with holiday lights and bright-colored flamingos with shades. While our Northern neighbors spend December shoveling snow, your party guests will be enjoying a “Wish You Were Here” light-hearted, quirky Floridian celebration.
